Alaska Hydraulics is Alaska's largest locally owned fluid power company. With a specialty in custom solutions, Alaska Hydraulics will diagnose system issues, repair existing equipment or source new components. Over the years, we've become a trusted provider to Alaskans as we've guided their projects from concept to reality. Our skilled staff can help with technical design, manufacturing, testing, and implementation.

Our History
Alaska Hydraulics Inc was founded in 1976 and in 1995 Tom Loran and Michelle Johnston purchased the company.
Growing with Alaska, they established stores in Anchorage, Dutch Harbor, and Kodiak. Upon Tom’s passing in March, 2020, the Anchorage shop became the sole Alaska Hydraulics store. In November 2021, Kenny Overvold and Leo Nadeau bought Alaska Hydraulics.
Today Alaska Hydraulics is a service and supply maintenance and overhaul facility located in Anchorage. We support all Alaskan industry including; the Alaska Railroad, Oil and Gas, Mining, Construction, Marine, Aviation ground support, and the U.S. Military.
We are committed to providing solutions for our customers fluid power needs. Our ambitious and driven hydraulic specialists and experienced repair technicians supply the best availability of local service. Due in part to their hard work and determination we treat deadlines with the utmost respect and don’t believe in excuses or exceptions.

Jim Loftis, Branch Manager
Jim began his career in the hydraulic industry 2002 at the family owned Jackovich Parker Store in Anchorage, Alaska. Jim started out at the ground level making hydraulic hoses and within one year was promoted to Store Manager. In this capacity he was responsible purchasing, inventory control, new product implementation, and personnel management. After 7 successful years, Jim was Promoted to Branch Manager for Jackovich at their main store in Anchorage Alaska.
In September 2011, Jim left Alaska to join the team at Precision Hydraulic Technology based in Odessa, Texas. Within six months Jim was promoted to Store Manager at their Parker Store in Odessa. One year later he was moved to take over their Parker Store in Midland, Texas. Next Jim was promoted to Product Specialist, where he was responsible for managing inventory at customer locations and technical product identification. In January 2016, Jim was again promoted at Precision, this time to Outside Sales, covering West Texas and East New Mexico. In early 2020 he decided to move his family back to Alaska and January 2021, Jim joined the Alaska Hydraulics team.
